19th Nov: Half Made Up, Exibition
Trafford residents become living artwork at Waterside
Trafford men and women are taking part in HALFMADEUP, a unique event that’s part of the opening of the Digital Organics exhibition at Sale Waterside Art Gallery.
The link between the cosmetics industry and digital manipulation is a close one with many cosmetics emulating the flawless effects achieved through digital manipulation. Real skin that is not digitally manipulated looks somewhat different.
Halfmadeup will bring this idea to life, the real and the fake, by inviting people to take part in the opening night of the Digital OrganicsDigital Organics is an exhibition of art made by exploring the digital revolution and its effect on our everyday lives. The art work exhibition half made up. The idea has arisen from workshops held in Trafford on Body Image and Confidence, part of the work that Digital Organics have done involving Trafford residents. Cleanser is provided, so there’s no cheating, and then one half of the face will be transformed by the application of makeup, simulating the flawless finish of an airbrushed image. Creating a photographic record of those taking part will be the culmination of the event.featured in this exhibition has been made in collaboration between Trafford residents and artists.
